The Western media are awash with correspondents’ reports on the grief Israelis are experiencing over the death of three teenagers.

The teenagers, the sons of Jewish squatters living on stolen Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank, disappeared on 12 June while hitchhiking and were found dead yesterday, 30 June.

Britain’s state broadcaster, the BBC, isn’t known for providing context when it comes to reporting the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

But there was a brief, rare exception in this morning’s flagship “Today” programmme, broadcast on Radio 4, in the form of this interview between presenter John Humphrys and Dr Mustafa Barghouti, member of the Palestinian Legislative Council – or parliament – and former presidential candidate.

Below is a recording of the interview, broadcast at 08:33:23. In it Dr Barghouti debunks the disinformation that is doing the rounds in the Western media regarding the responsibility for the death of the squatter teens, the Palestinian national unity government and the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas.
