When Israelis talk about “peace”, they don’t mean a settlement of – and certainly not a just solution to – the conflict with the Palestinians.

What they mean is “peace and quiet” for the Jews to get on with stealing Palestinian land and ethnically cleansing Palestine of non-Jews.

The latest demonstration of this uniquely corrupt definition of peace came from Israel’s Moldovan foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman.

Speaking at a meeting of “Israeli and US persons of influence”, held in Washington on 6 December, the former nightclub bouncer said that although peace between Israelis and the Palestinians is unlikely, the talks between the two sides must continue, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA) reported.

“It’s crucial to keep this dialogue,” he told his audience. “It’s important to manage this conflict.”

For those familiar with Zionist-speak, “managing the conflict” means not letting matters get out of control while the Jews get on with their war crimes and crimes against humanity in the occupied territories.

By this definition, the talks with the Palestinians can continue for as long as it takes, just as the Oslo process, which was originally scheduled to last five years, has been stretched to 20 and is still going, while the land grab and ethnic cleaning continue.

That is peace, Israel-style.
